ISCAR's WHISPERLINE modular products provide effective anti-vibration solutions for machining operations that require long-reach tools with an extremely high overhang. For example, deep internal turning (boring), threading and grooving. WHISPERLINE products significantly reduce and even eliminate vibrations when working with a high overhang.

A key WHISPERLINE element is the anti-vibration bar system with a 'live' vibration dampening system located inside the bar body. Situated inside the bar is a unique damping mechanism to ensure the required dampening effect. The reactive damping mechanism comes into action during machining with high overhang work depths and acts as an effective counter to vibrations.

The highly effective, anti-vibration damper effect is applicable for large depths of cut and high feed rates and enables continuous, efficient machining. WHISPERLINE anti-vibration bars considerably improve machining stability and enhance insert life. The tool assembly comprises of an anti-vibration bar and an exchangeable head carrying an indexable insert. Extremely high dynamic rigidity of the assembly ensures considerable vibration resistance. When machining with a high overhang, applying this tool significantly improves stability and allows overcoming dynamic behavior limitations, resulting in improved performance.

Situated inside these ingenious tools is a unique damping mechanism that consists of a heavy mass that is supported by a rubber spring element containing oil to increase the required dampening effect.
