New HMSN Holders with DO-GRIP Adaptors Provide a High Degree of Rigidity for Single and Multi-Spindle Automatics (Screw Machines)

New HMSN holders are designed for multi-spindle automatics such as Acme-Gridley, Conomatic and New Britain screw machines. The new holders can be adapted for many other single- and multi-spindle automatics, screw machines and CNCs. The Holders fit the turrets of most American machine tools and are therefore quoted as standard in inch dimensions, but can be modified to metric-sizes as well. The holders feature two seats, one on the right and one on the left, for mounting adaptors in either direction for use in right- or left-hand rotating options.
The tools are very rigid, providing a solution for new and some older machines with limited rigidity. The combination of the integral-shank holder with the advantage of the DG adaptor designated DGAD and the double-ended, twisted DO-GRIP insert offers an optimal, economical solution for today's grooving and parting. Adaptors are screw-clamped on the HMSN holders for fast replacement and accurate positioning.
Four types of adaptors with a variety of inserts including ISCAR's DO-GRIP and HELIGRIP types with either straight or twisted inserts, and the famous CUT-GRIP inserts can now be utilized on these machines. Deep grooving is possible, up to 50 mm (2.0") with the appropriate combination of holders, adaptors and inserts.
DO-GRIP inserts are available with various chipformers, including C, J, JS, Y and UT types for all applications, and in the newest PVD grades IC328 and IC354 for low-to-medium speeds.
